Dalai Lama criticises Chinese repression

The spiritual leader of Tibetans, Dalai Lama, who started this Thursday for a five day visit to Germany, in Frankfurt criticised the Chinese repression during demonstrations that occurred in March in Tibet.
Shortly after arriving the airport in Frankfurt, the Dalai Lama regretted the repressive reaction of the Chinese authorities at the time of the events in Lassa. The Tibetan leader also explained that does not ask for the independence of Tibet, but only the autonomy of the territory, so that Tibetans can live in harmony with China, which maintains, must result in a “confidence based on equality.”
“No peace without human rights” is the motto of the visit to Germany by the Dalai Lama, who lives in exile in northern India since 1959. In the coming days, the Tibetan leader will participate in various lectures and meetings is marked with politicians and parliamentarians.
